SunRisers Hyderabad opener Shikhar Dhawan can trade his loyalty in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League.
As per reports doing the rounds on the internet, Dhawan could join Delhi Daredevils as they are the front-runners in the race to sign the Indian cricket team opener.
Other than Delhi Daredevils, Preity Zinta co-owned franchise Kings XI Punjab and Reliance industries owned Mumbai Indians are also in the race for Shikhar Dhawan, reports Mumbai Mirror. It has also been learnt that stylish left-handed batsman might be on his way to his home franchise, Delhi Daredevils after a potential move to the KXIP collapsed.
The reports also claimed that Mumbai were favourite to sign the southpaw before Punjab emerged victorious in bidding. Punjab had almost signed Dhawan but the move collapsed in the last minute after a higher bid from Delhi Daredevils.
KXIP had reportedly offered to increase the 32-year-old batsman’s price by Rs 1 crore and offered Karun Nair to SunRisers Hyderabad. However, DD offered to pay more for Dhawan as they aim to strengthen their squad.
Shikha Dhawan is among one of the most prolific batsmen in the Indian Premier League. Dhawan had scored 497 runs in 16 games at an average of 38.23 in 2017. So far, Dhawan has played a total of 143 games in the tournament and amassed 4058 runs at an average of 33.26.
