Can the Spanish side stun the Red Devils in their own backyard?
Despite admitting to the onerous task ahead of him and his team,Vincenzo Montella remained hopeful that his Sevilla side could script an upset at Manchester United to progress to the quarters of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.
“It is a very special game because we have only reached the quarter finals once and it was sixty years go. We must do our best and score at least once”, Montella told his pre-match press conference on Monday.

Sevilla dominated the first leg but were unable to find a way past United custodian David de Gea and with the score 0-0 heading into the second leg at Old Trafford, United are slight favourites to make the last-eight.

“We know that Manchester United is a really good team, full of top-players and managed by one of the best trainers. They are an historical team and we must do our best to beat them. It will be a difficult game and the key will be taking advantage of our chances.”
“Normally top-teams have strong and quality players but I am not worried about it. I just want to see my players finding the back of the net,” Montella replied when asked about his side’s inability to find the back of the net in games of late.
The Italian manager was asked about how his side could stun the Red Devils in their own backyard and he replied, “We must control every situation onto the pitch and find when is the perfect moment for attacking and defending”.
Dismissing talk of the Spanish outfit being frustrated after the goalless draw in the first leg, Montella added “We are not frustrated at all because we played a really good game in the first leg. We know United are on a good run but we hope we can put an end to it”.
