Serie A giants AS Roma may not have won the Serie A last season, but their social media game continues to go strength to strength and their bizarre way of announcing Bryan Cristante’s transfer has sent their Twitter followers in the peals of laughter.

The Gialorossi, who fell at the penultimate hurdle of the UEFA Champions League, have an extremely popular Twitter account (English), but their latest post took the cake:

The deliberately shoddy attempt at a photoshopping the image of the 23-year-old was what made the post go viral, adding another feather to the cap of the administrators of the Roma (English) account.

Roma weren’t done with just one post, however, as they added another in no time, this time with a uproarious caption to go with it:

Cristiante joined the Italian giants on a one-year loan deal on Friday from Atlanta and is expected to make the switch permanent after a year.

Eusebio Di Francesco’s side have reportedly paid €5 million for the loan and will have to shell out a further €10 million ( potentially rising to €15 million) when they make the move for the midfielder permanent.

Capped for Italy from the U-16 level to the senior side, the 6’2 midfielder had an excellent 2017-18 season for Atlanta as he banged in 12 goals across all competitions.

That form in front of goal was probably the clincher as the Giallorossi swooped in to sign the AC Milan Academy graduate.
