La Liga heavyweights Real Madrid were desperately looking to add a world class midfield playing option in their team but failed to draft in one despite all their attempts to do so in the summer transfer window. Manchester United star Paul Pogba was one of Madrid’s top targets but they had valued him at €180 million which made Real Madrid a little reluctant.
The reluctance on part of Real Madrid was because they had already made some high profile transfers in the transfer window and were not ready to spend a huge amount yet again. They had drafted in Eden Hazard from Chelsea for a reported transfer fee of €100 million and were also trying to rope in Neymar.

Consequently, Real Madrid were forced to consider other options which included Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen and Ajax’s Donny Van de Beek. The deal for either of them failed to materialise in the summer transfer slot. Recent reports reveal that they have now identified another midfield option as their target .

According to a report carried by Don Balon, Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) Julian Draxler is one of the key players on Real Madrid’s wish list and they are hopeful of the deal happening in the January transfer window. The German International player is reportedly not happy with his stay in the club and is not in good terms with club superstar Neymar. Manger Thomas Tuchel is also willing to part ways with him.
Moreover, PSG are only looking to get as much as 40 million for him and the report claims that Los Blancos will be more than happy to have him for that amount.
