PKL Season 11: Puneri Paltan win comfortably against Patna Pirates
Puneri Paltan started strongly in their second match, as Aslam Inamdar and co quickly stormed into a 4-0 lead in the first few minutes of the game.
Deepak Niwas Hooda led from the front and scored 14 points as Puneri Paltan handed out a 38-15 defeat to Jaipur Pink Panthers in Vivo Pro Kabaddi Season 5, here on Wednesday.
It was a disappointing end to the season for Jaipur Pink Panthers as they lost for the 13th time in the season. Manjeet Chhillar scored just three points for Jaipur Pink Panthers and didn’t get any support from his teammates.
Jaipur Pink Panthers finished fifth in Zone A with 51 points from 22 matches. PuneriPaltan now have 78 points from 20 matches and are second in Zone B.

Rajesh Mondal scored a raid point in the second minute as PuneriPaltan led 2-0. Jasvir Singh opened Jaipur Pink Panthers’ account in the third minute with a raid. After five minutes, Puneri Paltan were looking the stronger team as their defence did a fine job on Jaipur raiders. Jaipur Pink Panthers could score just two raid points in the entire first half.
Puneri Paltan scored eight tackle points in the first half. Manjeet Chhillar scored three tackle points for Jaipur in the first half. Puneri Paltan led 12-7 at the end of the first half.
Puneri Paltan started the second half in style as they inflicted an all out in the 22nd minute to lead 18-8. Jaipur Pink Panthers struggled in the second half as well as they could score just one point in eight minutes. Deepak Niwas Hooda socred with a raid in the 27th minute as Puneri Paltan led 22-8.
Pawan Kumar made a two-point raid in the 29th minute as Jaipur trailed 11-22.PuneriPaltan inflicted another all out in the 33rd minute to lead 32-12. PuneriPaltan took their foot off the pedal in the last minutes yet Jaipur Pink Panthers couldn’t do much against them.
Jaipur could score just eight points in the second half compared to Pune’s 24. Deepak Niwas Hooda picked points at regular intervals as Puneri Paltan ran out comfortable winners in the end. Manjeet Chhillar and Jasvir Singh failed to score even a single point in the second half as Jaipur Pink Panthers lost 15-38.
Bengaluru Bulls 29 Patna Pirates 29
Bengaluru Bulls and Patna Pirates played out a hard-fought 29-29 tie. Monu Goyat scored 11 points for Patna Pirates whereas Rohit Kumar scored nine points for Bengaluru Bulls. It was an evenly contested affair with neither team refusing to give an inch. Patna would be disappointed as Pardeep Narwal’s quiet second half performance was one of the reason why they couldn’t emerge victorious.
Bengaluru Bulls ended their Pro Kabaddi season 5 with 57 points from 22 matches and finished fourth in Zone B. Patna Pirates, who have already qualified for the super playoffs, have 71 points after 22 league matches and finished second in Zone B.
Pardeep Narwal scored his second raid point in the third minute as Patna Pirates raced into a 4-0 lead. Ajay Kumar and Rohit Kumar scored raid points as Bengaluru Bulls trailed 2-4 after four minutes. Pardeep Narwal scored with a two-point raid as Patna Pirates led 7-4 in the sixth minute.
Bengaluru Bulls fought back and scored three straight points to level the match at 7-7 after 10 minutes. Patna Pirates forced a super tackle in the next minute to lead 9-7. Both teams exchanged raid and tackle points in what was a tight first half. Bengaluru Bulls inflicted an all out in the 15th minute to lead 14-11. Rohit Kumar scored seven points in the first half for Bengaluru Bulls whereas Pardeep Narwal got six raid points. Bengaluru Bulls went into the break leading 18-16. Both teams had equal number of raid and tackle points at the end of the first half.
Patna defence got into the act at the start of the second half and scored two tackle points to tie the match at 19-19 after 23 minutes. Bengaluru Bulls led 23-20 in the 26th minute but Patna fought back to cut the lead to just one point after 30 minutes.
Pardeep Narwal made a successful raid in the 34th minute to tie the match at 25-25. Bengaluru Bulls scored three straight points in two minutes to lead 28-25. MonuGoyat came up with a two-point raid in the 38th minute to give Patna Pirates 29-28 lead. Sunil Jaipal tied the match in the 40th minute as he scored a raid point for Bengaluru Bulls. PardeepNarwal had a chance to win the match for Patna Pirates in the dying seconds but couldn’t get the raid point. The match ended in a tie with both teams level at 29-29.
