Liverpool, who started their Premier League campaign as favourites to win, have done no harm to their reputation so far having won all their matches in the tournament so far. On Saturday, they continued their unbeaten run in the competition defeating Newcastle United 3-1 and the striker duo of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah once again scoring for them.
Mane continued his terrific run for Liverpool as he netted home a brace riding on which the Reds bagged the match with a lot of ease in the end. Notably, Liverpool were trailing behind at one stage in the match with Jetro Willems of Newcastle United opening the scoring for them. However, it was then that Mane came to Liverpool’s rescue. He not only equalised 21 minutes later but even ensured that Liverpool led at the half-time mark.
18 minutes before the final whistle, Mohamed Salah scored another goal and made it a worse day for Newcastle United who had started off positively but simply were not aware how to counter-attack in a given situation. With their win in this match, Liverpool have now become the first team in the history of Premier League to win as many as 14 matches in a row with more than one goal to their credit in each of these 14 winning games.
