Rafa Benitez’s Magpies are lining up in a 5-4-1 formation, with Martin Dubravka starting in goal.
A back-five of Paul Dummett, Ciaran Clark, Federico Fernandez, Jamaal Lascelles and DeAndre Yedlin will give City’s vaunted attackers a tough time while Ayoze Perez, Mohamed Diame, Ki Sung-Young and Kenedy feature in midfield.
Summer signing Salomon Rondon leads the line for the visitors.
After last week’s draw at Wolves, City will be raring to get back to winning ways and they should, barring a monumental upset, against a side that are struggling for confidence.
