The 38-year-old Green will be a third-choice goalkeeper for the the West London outfit.

A signing out of the blue for most Chelsea supporters, and the man at the centre of attention was in the same boat as he gushed, “It has been a whirlwind 24 hours. You are thinking about your career and where you want to go and then you get a phone call like this, and it is a short conversation. It has been a pretty dramatic time for me and I can’t wait to get started.

Considering the 38-year-old arrives on a free transfer, it is a good piece of business by Maurizio Sarri’s men.
Their first order of business in the summer was the £57 million purchase of Napoli midfielder Jorginho.
“I am absolutely delighted and it is a thrill and an honour to be here.”
At his age and coupled with the fact that he’s played just one competitive match in the past two seasons, it would be highly unlikely that the former England custodian sees much action in the coming season.
After his contract with Huddersfield Town expired at the end of the last campaign, the former West Ham United, Norwich City, Leeds United and Queens Park Rangers custodian was a free agent in the summer.
