Premier League: Man City’s woes continue with 1-2 defeat at Villa Park
Aston Villa secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Manchester City in a gripping Premier League clash at Villa Park.
Guardiola is now looking to add some more quality players in the team in the winter transfer window to try and catch up with Liverpool who have already taken a six-point lead.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is doing everything in his capacity to improve Manchester City’s squad. He is now looking to add some more quality players in the team in the winter transfer window to try and catch up with Liverpool who have already taken a six-point lead in the points tally of the Premier League. Now reports are claiming that Guardiola is interested in including a Barcelona star.
The first priority in the transfer window for Manchester City would be to add defensive players in the squad. This is because their regular starting defenders Aymeric Laporte and John Stones have been ruled out because of injury and Guardiola is forced to play with Fernandinho and Rodri as central defenders.

Along with a central defender, the Spanish media manager also wants to get a midfielder in the team and for this he has a Barca star in mind. According to a report carried by Don Balon, this Barcelona star is none other than out of favour midfielder Ivan Rakitic.

The midfielder is also looking to change club and reports also state that Inter Milan are set to submit a €38 million bid for him. This means that Manchester City may well have to pay somewhere around €40 million in order to get Rakitic in their squad in the winter transfer window.
It remains to be seen if the deal materialises.
