The demise of Edson Arantes do Nascimento, popularly known as aka Pele, has left an eternal void that can never be filled. This was more or less of what the top footballers say as soon as the sad news started spreading like wildfire across the planet.
Living legend, Ronaldo, took to Instagram and wrote: “My deep condolences to all of Brazil, and in particular to the family of Edson Arantes do Nascimento. A mere ‘goodbye’ to the eternal King Pele will never be enough to express the pain that the entire football world is currently embracing.

“An inspiration to so many millions, a reference yesterday, today and forever. The love you always showed me was reciprocated in every moment we shared even from a distance. He will never be forgotten, and his memory will live forever in each and every one of us football lovers. Rest in peace.”
Paris Saint Germain forward and France World Cup star Kylian Mbappe also took to social media to pay his tributes on the sad demise of the legend. Mbappe tweeted “”The king of football has left us but his legacy will never be forgotten. RIP KING.”
The 3 times World Cup Champion was under ‘elevated care’ related to kidney and cardiac dysfunction. He had a colon tumor which was removed in September last year.
The Octogenarian legend lost the battle against cancer as his family took to twitter and informed about his sad demise from his official account.
