Pleased with the way the South African team bounced back in the 3rd T20I and beat India in Bengaluru, captain Quinton de Kock said that the Proteas corrected a few mistakes they made in 2nd T20I in Mohali. Meanwhile, he added that the intensity of the South African players in the field was really good.

On Sunday, after getting an invitation to bowl first, South Africa restricted India to 134 for 9 and then chased down the target with over three overs to spare, thanks to a 79 not out off 52 balls from de Kock.

“I think we kept it nice and simple,” said de Kock in the post-match presentation.

The 26-year-old southpaw heaped praises on left-arm pacer Beuran Hendricks, who was the Man of the Match for his figures of 2 for 14 in 4 overs.

“(We) Focused on hitting a good length. Our spinners kept it tight too. Beuran bowled really well, he’s got the skills. Sometimes it’s better on these wickets to take the pace off.”

De Kock felt that South Africa corrected a few mistakes they had made in the previous match that led to a seven-wicket defeat. He said, “We fixed one or two things from our mistakes in the last game. Our intensity in the field has also been really good.”

South Africa leveled the three-match series 1-1 by winning the last match as India had already won the second match after the first match was washed out due to rain.
