“Lionel Messi,” Pepe said to Arsenal.com when he was asked about which present player he admires the most. “Because he is simply the best player in the world,” he added.
He then went on to elaborate what it is about Messi that distinguishes him from the other great players in the world. “Fast. Quick to connect with the ball and a good finisher as well,” he said.
“That is also an area where I have made progress. I would say that I am quick and a dribbler.”
Arsenal begin their Premier League season when they lock horns against Newcastle United and Pepe is expected to be in the starting XI for Arsenal’s opening clash which will take place at St. James’ Park on Sunday, 11 August.
