La Liga giants Barcelona seem to have lost the battle to rope in star player Neymar Jr in their side and it is almost confirmed that Neymar will stay at his Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Notably, Barcelona had tried really hard to draft in Neymar into their team but failed to reach an agreement with PSG. According to a report carried by Don Balon, a Spanish media outlet, Barcelona have claimed that they tried their best to rope in Neymar into their team. However, despite all the efforts, Barcelona star forward Lionel Messi does not seem to be a happy man.

The report adds that Messi might even be frustrated and angry with Barcelona for not doing enough to rope in Neymar into their squad, a player who shares a deep friendship with Messi and also makes an impressive partnership in front of the goals.

The report further adds that Neymar even called the Argentina superstar and discussed his future plans. He also reportedly revealed that he plans to stay at PSG only till the next transfer window which will open in January.

Meanwhile, Sporting Director of PSG, Leonordo has confirmed that there was indeed a negotiation between Barcelona and PSG concerning Neymar. However, the deal could not materialise since the conditions put forward by PSG were not accepted by Barca.

“The first written proposal of Barcelona was on August 27. We were open to talk about players, but there was no acceptance of our conditions,” Leonardo reportedly said.

As of now, PSG have their superstar player in their team for the near future. But Barcelona is expected to come back with a better bid in the next transfer window.
