US President Donald Trump on Friday said China had “panicked” by retaliating to his reciprocal tariff with a matching levy of 34 per cent on all imported goods from America.
Triggering a full-blown trade war, China will impose additional 34 per cent tariffs on all products imported from the United States starting from April 10, the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council announced on Friday.
It had the hallmarks of a reality TV cliffhanger. Until recently, many people had never even heard of tariffs.
