Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been rested from the upcoming three-match T20 International series against the West Indies. In Virat Kohli’s absence, Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian squad. However, Virat Kohli will be back to lead the Men-in-Blue in the three-match T20I series against Australia starting November 21.

Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni has been axed from team India for both T20I series against West Indies and Australia.

With MS Dhoni out from T20I squad, rookie wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant would don the gloves for India, announced BCCI’s chief of selectors MSK Prasad.

As the exclusion of Dhoni surprised many, MSK Prasad clarified that it is not the end of MS Dhoni’s T20I cricketing career.

“Dhoni is not going to play the 6 T20Is because we’re looking at the second keeper slot. It is not the end of Dhoni in T20Is,” MSK Prasad said.

Talking about the four-match Test series against Australia, Rohit Sharma, Murali Vijay and Parthiv Patel have made a comeback in the Indian squad. Mayank Agarwal and Mohammed Siraj, who earned their maiden Test call-ups during the Windies Test series, have been dropped from the squad. Hardik Pandya has also not been included in the Indian squad for Australia Test.
