The international break may be on, but for Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera, it’s just a chance to put in some hard yards in a bid to be ready by the time club football returns.

Herrera’s not seen much action this season, primarily due to an ankle injury but it appears that he and Marcos Rojo are on the verge of featuring for the first-team after the Spaniard uploaded a video of him completing a finishing drill effortlessly, with some help from the Argentine defender.

With a crunch Premier League tie against Chelsea coming up just as the international break gets over, Jose Mourinho’s got two senior stars available and the Red Devils faithful will be equally pleased:

Herrera’s made just one Premier League start this season and his last appearance for the club was a 2-2 draw against Derby County in the Carabao Cup on the 25th of September.

United, not necessarily due to the Spaniard’s absence, have struggled this season and currently find themselves in 8th place, a considerable seven points behind the Premier League leaders.

Adding insult to injury, lowly Derby County knocked them out of the Carabao Cup on penalties after the fixture at Old Trafford ended in a draw.

Reports of Jose Mourinho getting the sack refuse to go away, with Zinedine Zidane the frontrunner to replace the Portuguese tactician.

Herrera, who’s in the final year of his contract, is said to be attracting interest from his homeland and the 29-year-old will be eligible to sign a pre-contract in the January.

With Nemanja Matic currently sidelined with injury, Herrera’s return is timely as the Spaniard does give United that combativeness in the middle of the pitch.
