As Manchester City beat Swansea 4-0 on Wednesday to set-up a new Premier League record of 15 wins in a row, their boss Pep Guardiola assured that complacency won’t be an issue for The Citizens.

“That is not going to happen. We are so demanding for our players. We can lose, we can drop points but complacency, never happened in the past, the present or the future,” Guardiola said as quoted by the club’s official website.

Having claimed 49 points in 17 games, City marked the best-ever start to an English top-flight season.

“Winning 15 games in a row gives us a lot of confidence. And if people are happy watching us, that is the best gift,” the 46-year-old Spanish manager added.

David Silva scored a brace, while Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Agüero contributed with a goal each in City’s emphatic win.

Guardiola was full of praise for Silva, who struck in the 27th and 52nd minute. “I’m so happy for David. We cannot disguise his quality but in the past, he didn’t score too many goals. He’s sharp, he’s in an amazing condition.”

“Considering we have a lot of games in our legs, a demanding game at Old Trafford three days ago, we were solid, we were serious and we made a good performance. You suffer and enjoy, as a manager, you see many things. When the team play good, we are happy. Our feeling – we understand what we want to do. We play good – inside, outside,” Guardiola added, rejoicing City’s 2-1 win over United on Sunday.
