New Barca signing 23-year -old Junior Firpo had joined Barcelona from Real Betis for a reported fee of €30 million. The youngster has played four league matches for Barcelona and even has a goal to his credit. However, recent reports from Spain reveal that club superstar Lionel Messi does not want him at the club.

It was extensively reported before that transfer that Lionel Messi was against Firpo joining the club in the first place. However, now that he is already in the team, a report carried by Don Balon claims that Messi wants Barca to sell him at their earliest.

The report adds that Messi does not believe Firpo to be a good enough left back option to replace Jordo Alba keeping in mind the long term prospects. Moreover, he is of the opinion that the former Betis star is not fit for UEFA Champions League and Barcelona will struggle big time if Alba misses out a few games due to injury.

Lionel Messi reportedly wants the club to get his Argentina teammate Nicolas Tagliafico in the team from Ajax. However, Nicholas recently stated that no such request has been made to him by Leo.

“Has Messi asked me to come to Barca? No, I said: Come to Ajax! Lionel has an important voice within Barcelona because he is such a good player. But it doesn’t work that the club buys the ones that it wants. Perhaps he will be asked his opinion about certain players.

“In November I see Lionel with the national team again and then I will ask him to come and play for Ajax with Luis Suarez. He may not know Amsterdam yet, but I can tell him all the good stories about it.

“I feel at home here, I can walk my dog in the middle of the night and feel safe, I couldn’t do that in Argentina,” Tagliafico had said as quoted by De Telegraaf.
