Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed admitted that the last week was very tough for the Green Brigade after their loss to arch-rivals India by 89 runs at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester on 16 June.

“Unfortunately, the last week that went by after our loss to India has been very tough for us,” said Sarfaraz in a video posted by ICC on Twitter.

“As a team, we learnt a lot from this and it can be seen in the response our team gave against South Africa and after that the way the fans supported us has been quite amazing,” said Sarfaraz on the team’s morale after their loss to India.

Sarfaraz also felt that the anger of their fans on the loss to the Men in Blue was valid because the fans have a lot of expectations from the team.

Pakistan, with 5 points from 6 matches, are still in the race for the semi-finals. They have to win their remaining 3 matches to keep their chances alive. They face New Zealand on Wednesday, 26 June, Afghanistan on 29 June, and Bangladesh on 5 July.
