La Liga team Real Madrid were not able to register a win in their second match of the season on Saturday at their home ground. Madrid looked set to win the home the match but an 88th minute Sergi Guardiola’s equalizer for Real Valladolid spoiled their party and ensured that the match ended in a 1-1 draw.

In other matches of the day, Celta Vigo defeated Valencia 1-0; Osasuna produced a goalless draw with Eibar, while Athletic Bilbao restricted Getafe to another draw with 1-1 score.
In the much anticipated Real Madrid clash, the home team started off as the favourites but failed to make their opportunities count. Gareth Bale and James both had goal-scoring opportunities which they failed to utilise. Any one of them in the nets could have well made the difference.
The Zidane managed side had to wait until the final 10 minutes of the match to open the scoring when Benzema produced a quick turn and shot on target which beat Jordi Masip and into the nets to record a goal. This was his 150th goal of La Liga. However, the touring team equalised six minutes later and Madrid would be very disappointed with this result since they wasted a good chance here to grab three points on the board.
Celta Vigo’s win, courtesy a Gabriel Fernandez goal, has ensured that they get their first points of the season. Athletic Bilbao have carried on their good start to the season by managing to pick up a point against Getafe. Raul Garcia scored to put Athletic Bilbao in the lead but Getafe equalised, courtesy a Jaime Mata goal, to make it a 1-1 draw.
