Portuguese star striker Cristiano Ronaldo and Bosnian midfielder Miralem Pjanic helped Juventus secure a 2-1 win over Bologna at the Allianz Stadium to consolidate the top spot in Serie A on Sunday.

Ronaldo was awarded a Juve top before the match, which had the number ‘700’ printed on the back with his name above it, marking the feat, which Ronaldo achieved by scoring a penalty in his country’s 2-1 defeat to Ukraine on Tuesday.

Talking about Sunday’s encounter, a mistake from the Bologna’s defense gave Ronaldo a half chance and the latter, showing his prowess, scored from an angle to give Juve an early lead in the game.

Ronaldo’s shot, which came in the 19th minute of the game, whizzed past the Bologna goalkeeper in the blink of an eye and, in no time, Juventus were 1-0 up in the game.

However, riding on an equaliser from Danilo Larangeira, Bologna bounced back in the game.

After this, a half-volley strike from Miralem Pjanic in the 54th minute amid chaos in front of the Bologna goal put the hosts in the driving seat. The goal was Pjanic’s third in four games.

After the goal, Bologna continued their attack on Juventus but Italian shot-stopper Gianluigi Buffon stood like a wall to save everything coming his way and ensured Juve don’t suffer any additional goal.

With the win, Juventus continue their dominance in the ongoing Serie A (2019-20), occupying the top spot with 22 points from 8 games.

Meanwhile, at the Mapei Stadium, Inter Milan defeated Sassuolo 4-3, courtesy braces from Lautaro Martinez (2′, 71 Penalty) and Romelu Lukaku (38′, 45′ Penalty).

Apart from this, Udinese defeated Torino 1-0, Cagliari beat SPAL 2-0, Parma thrashed Genoa 5-0. Milan played a 2-2 draw with Lecce and Sampdoria played a goalless draw with Roma.
