Liverpool  manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that while Emre Can is recovering well from a back injury, he’s still uncertain whether the midfielder will be able to feature against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final on May 26.

“It depends,” Klopp responded, when asked whether Can will be in his matchday squad at the NSC Olimpiyskiy Stadium.

Can was part of the squad that travelled to Marbella, Spain for a four-day warm-weather training camp last week and while he hasn’t been in action since the middle of March, there are high chances of him featuring in Kiev.

“With Emre or players in the situation of Emre it depends on the reaction on things (but) let me say it like this: 10 days ago, I didn’t think it was possible that he could do what he did today, and that he could do what he did in Marbella already.”

James Milner was another player said to be struggling, but it appears the Englishman has shaken off a tight hamstring and is fit again, as is compatriot Adam Lallana.

“That looked good and my impression of him is really positive, but we have to wait again until tomorrow. But the door, of course, is open. It’s really nice to have him back in the group and he is really desperate to be part of (the final) and we will see.”

“No clue. (That’s) not important in the moment, to be honest,” Klopp emphatically stated when asked whether Can’s contract issue could be sorted out anytime soon.

The 24-year-old Can is out of a contract in the summer and talks with the club have repeatedly stalled.

Serie A giants Juventus are said to be favourites to land the German midfielder, who will be a free agent in the summer.

“In this moment, he is 100 per cent here and that is the only thing I’m interested in. Anything else, I really have no idea but that’s not important to me at the moment,” the German tactician added.
