Since September 2022, when Bumrah’s back issue recurred after playing 2 home T20Is against Australia, he has been away from international competitive cricket. Eventually, he was ruled out from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which was held in Australia.

The first ODI between India and Sri Lanka is all set to take place on 10th January in Guwahati. The next 2 ODI’s will be played on 12th and 15th Jan in Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram respectively.
