Shivam Dube, who hit five successive sixes in a single over against Baroda in a Ranji match just a day before the Indian Premier League players’ auction, was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a whopping among of Rs 5 crore.
Other than Dubre, RCB also roped West Indies youngster Shimron Hetmyer for Rs 4.2 crores. Bangalore also added 15-year-old Prayas Ray Barman in their squad for Rs 1.5 crore.
In the last season of IPL, RCB had finished at the sixth spot despite having superstars such as Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Quinton de Kock and Brendon McCullum in their squad.

Before the auction, Bangalore had secured the services of their skipper Virat Kohli, former South African skipper AB de Villiers, Yuzvendra Chahal, Tim Southee along with Nathan Coulter-Nile.
RCB also traded South Africa’s wicket-keeper batsman Quinton de Kock to Mumbai Indians. Virat Kohli-led side also opted to trade Indian cricketer Mandeep Singh for Australian Marcus Stoinis.
Former New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum, fellow New Zealander Corey Anderson and England’s Chris Woakes, and Indian player Sarfraz Khan were the other players released by RCB.
