The much-talked about Indian Premier League players’ auction got over in Bengaluru on Sunday evening. Kings XI Punjab snatched R Ashiwn from Chennai Super Kings in bidding war and after a four-year stint with the KXIP, Glenn Maxwell has united with Gautam Gambhir in the Delhi team.

Gambhir, who has performed extremely good in IPL till date and has led Shah Rukh Khan-owned franchise Kolkata Knight Riders in winning two IPL trophies, triggered bidding wars and was finally bought by Delhi Daredevils.

Meanwhile, Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh had a massive price cut as he was bought by the Preity Zinta-owned franchisee for Rs 2 crore, his base price.

While Harbhajan Singh will play for Chennai Super Kings, Yuzvendra Chahal has been reunited with Indian skipper Virat Kohli and will play for Royal Challenger Bangalore in IPL 2018.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes became the most expensive player at the IPL auction for the second year running when he was taken by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 12.5 crore.

Interestingly, Indian pacer Jaydev Unadkat was more expensive than even star New Zealand fast bowler Trent Boult who was bought by Delhi Daredevils for a mere Rs 2.2 crore. Unadkat was bought by Rajasthan Royals here on Sunday.

Indian middle-order batsman Manish Pandey and opener Lokesh Rahul were the most expensive Indians at the auction on Saturday as they were sold for identical price of Rs 11 crore.

Pandey was bought by Hyderabad while Punjab secured KL Rahul’s services.
