Don’t write off champions: Nathan Lyon on Kohli’s recent batting slump
The Australian team must be hoping to take advantage of Virat Kohli’s prolonged batting slump when the two sides clash in the five-Test series for the Border-Gavaskar trophy
Ashwin’s side will face Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday.
South African all-rounder David Miller heaped praises on Kings XI Punjab skipper Ravichandran Ashwin, saying “he is a calculated captain”.
“From what I have gathered, he is very calculated. He thinks about the game very well. Every decision he makes, there is a reason why he does that. So far, it is pretty relaxed; he is pretty low key, letting guys do what they need to do. That is the most important thing. So far it has been good, and we have an exciting five weeks ahead. He knows a lot about the game and thinks a lot about the game,” David Miller told HT.
Miller further said though it has been just one game in which R Ashwin was seen as the skipper of any team in the IPL, he can face challenges.

“It has only been one game. I don’t know if it makes so much of a difference if it is a fast bowler or a spin bowler, but so far he has been pretty good. T20 is obviously quick and fast. The longer format is a lot more (demanding), the longer spells that you bowl, the more you get tired.”
R Ashwin-led KXIP had begun their camping against Gautam Gambhir-led Delhi Daredevils on a winning note.
Ashwin’s side will face Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on Friday.
