Skipper Virat Kohli hit another double century, taking the team’s total to 472/4 on the second day of the third Test match against Sri Lanka at Feroz Shah Kotla ground in Delhi on Sunday. This is Kohli’s consecutive 200-run innings and overall he has hit six double tons in the last 17 months. India started the day at 371 for four.
On Saturday, Ajinkya Rahane was the last casualty of the day for India as he was stumped by the Sri Lankan wicket keeper at 1. Murali Vijay scored a hundred (155) and Skipper Virat Kohli was batting at 156 when the play was called off for the day. Vijay and Kohli cemented the innings by completing a 200-run partnership. India lost opener Shikhar Dhawan (23), who became off- spinner Dilruwan Perera’s 100th Test victim, and Cheteshwar Pujara (23) in the morning session.
