Virat Kohli does not need us, we need him: Bumrah
Bumrah, however, stressed that Kohli knows his cricket better than anyone else and that his experience of batting in these challenging conditions was essential from the team’s perspective.
Both the teams will next face each other on Monday at the same venue for the third ODI match.
New Zealand’s Eastern District Police have issued a “cheeky warning” against the Indian cricket team after Virat Kohli’s boys thrashed the Blackcaps by 90 runs in the second One Day International (ODI) match of the five-match series to take a 2-0 lead. The second ODI was played at the Bay Oval.
After Team India’s record win, the New Zealand police department shared a sporty post on their official Facebook page.
The post said: “Police would like to issue a warning to members of the public about the exploits of a group touring the country at the moment. Witnesses’ reports seeing this group badly assault an innocent looking bunch of New Zealanders in both Napier and Mt Maunganui in the last week. Extra care should be taken if you are carrying anything that looks like a cricket bat or ball.”

On Saturday, batting first, Indian openers Rohit Sharma (87) and Shikhar Dhawan (66) stitched a 154-run stand for the opening wicket as the visiting team scored 324 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 50 overs.
India’s spin duo, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav, shared six wickets between them as Men-in-Blue bowled out the hosts for 234 runs. Star Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar bagged two wickets.
Both the teams will next face each other on Monday at the same venue for the third ODI match.
