India’s left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav was all praises for former skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, saying that he hasn’t seen anyone faster than the Ranchi based wicket-keeper in his career so far.
MS Dhoni, despite his age, has been setting the benchmark while keeping the wickets and the Chennai skippers’ ability to take the bails off in a flash is second to none.
In the recently concluded T20I series against New Zealand, that Team India lost 1-2, Dhoni effected the stumping of Kiwi opener Tim Seifert in just 0.09 seconds (as per official broadcasters) off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav.
“Mahi bhai has vast experience and keeps telling us the nitty-gritty of the game. He is like a game changer and we are lucky to have him in our team,” the chinaman was quoted as saying by the Indian Express.
Kuldeep also added, “But what I find most extraordinary about him is the speed in which he dislodges the stumps. It is simply unbelievable and honestly, I have never played with someone with such quick glovework.”
MS Dhoni has so far 119 stumpings against his name in the One Day Internationals (ODIs), which is also the most in the 50-over format. Dhoni also leads the T20Is chart with 34 dismissals against his name. Pakistan wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal is second with 32.
Yadav has been rested for the upcoming T20I home series against Australia, starting February 24. However, Kuldeep will return to the Indian squad for the five-match ODI series against the same opposition.
