On August 26, Harbhajan Singh had filed a complaint that he had loaned Rs 4 crore in 2015 to the firm Auraa Mega Investments, which was into real estate business.

One of the cheques issued by the firm towards loan interest bounced.

On his part, Mahesh said that he had got the loan after giving Harbhajan Singh the title deeds of a property located near here as security and all dues have been paid.

Meanwhile, Harbhajan, who plies his trade with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has decider to skip ths year’s cash-rich tournament which is set to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The off-spinner followed the footsteps of Suresh Raina who had earlier returned to India after traveling to the UAE with the CSK squad.

However, unlike Raina, Harbhajan had not yet joined the CSK camp in UAE and remained in India when the team had flown out. The 40-year-old had also skipped CSK’s pre-season camp in Chennai last month.

The 2020 season of the IPL will be played for 53 days from September 19 to November 10 across three venues in the UAE — Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai.

The final match will be played on a Tuesday, to make it the first-ever IPL to have its final on a weekday. The matches this season will also start 30 minutes before their original time of 4 PM and 8 PM.
