The IPL final on May 28

The IPL final will be played on May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Chennai Super Kings became the first team to reach the IPL 2023 final by defeating the defending Champions Gujarat Titans on Tuesday in Qualifier 1.

While Mumbai Indians surpassed Lucknow Super Giants in the eliminator by 81 runs on Wednesday to seal their place in Qualifier 2.

The Qualifier 2 will be played between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians on Friday at the Narendra Modi Stadium. In their previous encounter, MI edged past GT by 27 runs at the Wankhede Stadium on May 12.

Suryakumar Yadav took centre stage with his unbeaten knock of 103(49)* to take MI’s score to 218/5.

While chasing 219, GT suffered a nightmare by losing crucial wickets before the halfway stage. Rashid Khan stepped up to keep GT’s hope alive. He struck sixes all over the stadium. However, his unbeaten knock of 79 (32)* proved futile as GT ended the game with a score of 191/8.

The defending champions will be keen to take their revenge by knocking MI out of the race for IPL 2023 title and seal their place in the second consecutive IPL final.
