A day after a police complaint was filed by Mohammed Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan, an FIR was registered against the cricketer on Friday. Jahan had accused her husband of domestic violence and adultery.

According to media reports, the FIR was registered under sections 498A, 323, 307, 376, 506, 328, 34 of the Indian Penal Code against Shami and 4 others following Hasin Jahan’s complaint.

Hasin Jahan on Thursday had filed a police complaint against Shami and his family members at a Kolkata police station. In her complaint, Jahan accused Shami of having extra-marital affairs and physical torture.

She also alleged that Shami’s family members tried to kill her and have been torturing her for more than two years.

Jahan had visited the Kolkata Police headquarters at Lalbazar on Wednesday, the day she put out screenshots of alleged conversations between Shami and other women, on her Facebook page.

She created uproar with her allegations that the Indian pacer is a big womaniser who has been torturing her ever since their marriage.

Before marrying Shami, Jahan was a model and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) cheerleader. The duo tied the knot in 2014.

Shami, who was not included in the new annual contract of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) following Jahan’s claims, refuted the allegations made by his wife and claimed innocence.
