Google India has just released ‘Year in Search 2019’ report. The list also consists of the most searched sports events in India.

Let us have a look at which sporting events have been searched the most in India this year.

Wimbledon

One of the most awaited tennis grand slam Wimbledon is number 3 on the list of most searched sporting events in India. The tournament was played in July and scheduled in London’s Wimbledon. While Novak Djokovic was the winner in the Men’s singles category, Simona Halep was crowned champions in the women’s singles category.

Pro Kabaddi League

India’s Pro Kabaddi League is number 2 on the list of most searched sporting event. The League was organised between 20 July and 19 October this year. As many as 12 teams participated in the league but it was Bengal Warriors who won the competition. Bengal Warriors defeated Dabang Delhi 39-34 in the final.

Cricket World Cup

The most searched sporting event in India is ICC Cricket World Cup 2019. Cricket is no less than a religion in this part of the world and it should not come as a surprise that the Cricket World Cups tops this list. The event was organised in England. The tournament was in news for all kinds of reasons. India made an exit from the World Cup after losing to New Zealand in the World Cup semi-final. England then defeated New Zealand not by runs or wickets but by virtue of scoring more boundaries after the scores remained tied both after 50 overs as well as the Super Over.
