After playing a significant part in Argentina’s thrilling penalty shootout triumph against France in the FIFA World Cup final, Argentina’s Angel di Maria may decide to continue playing for his country.
The 34-year-old Juventus winger had earlier stated that he would retire following the conclusion of football World Cup in Qatar, but TyC Sports reported on Friday that the player has changed his mind. Di Maria is now willing to consider playing in the 2024 Copa America.
Di Maria has 129 caps for the Argentina senior team, since making his debut in 2008.

After suffering a thigh strain during the group stage of the 2022 World Cup, he regained his form and physical and fitness, and eventually turned out as the crucial X-factor for the Albiceleste’s World Cup victory in Lusail on December 18.
Di Maria also won a penalty that Lionel Messi duly scored and then scored his team’s second goal.
