Guwahati set to host India-NZ T20I in early 2026
Guwahati has been confirmed as one of the venues for the India–New Zealand white-ball series early next year, and will host a T20I as part of the eight-match limited-overs series.
Australian opener David Warner is set to retire from T20 international cricket following the 2024 T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place in the USA and West Indies.
Warner confirmed this decision during a post-match press conference after Australia’s 11-run victory against the West Indies in Hobart.

In the post-match press conference, Warner expressed his desire to participate in the T20 World Cup and wrap up his career there, emphasizing the positive trajectory ahead for the next six months.

Notably, the profilic batsman has retired from both ODI and Test cricket, with his final ODI appearance occurring during the 2023 ODI World Cup final match against India, where Australia lifted the trophy.
After scoring a half-century against Pakistan during a home series, the left-handed batsman declared his retirement from Test cricket.
In the match against the West Indies, Warner’s impressive 70 runs off 36 balls, along with Tim David’s powerful hitting, propelled Australia to set a formidable target of 213 runs against the West Indies.
Warner’s outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Match award in their 11-run victory on Friday.
In 2023, the Australian opener experienced a successful year, securing victories in the Test Championship and ODI World Cup under the captaincy of Pat Cummins.
As he approaches retirement, the 37-year-old has the opportunity to conclude his career as a world champion across all formats if Australia emerges victorious in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Possessing considerable experience in T20I cricket, Warner has accumulated 2964 runs in this format and is on the verge of reaching the milestone of 3000 runs. His illustrious career in Australian cricket includes triumphs in the T20 World Cup as well as two victories in the ODI World Cup in 2015 and 2023.
In Test cricket, Warner has participated in 112 matches, amassing 8786 runs, including 26 centuries. His remarkable international career boasts 48 centuries across all formats, the highest number achieved by any Australian player.
The 2024 T20 World Cup is set to take place from June 1 to June 29. Australia is grouped with England, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman in Group B.
