The Ballon d’Or 2018 will be announced only on 3 December 2018, but Spain’s radio station Onda Cero has already got their hands on the winner list. On Wednesday, the Spanish radio claimed that Croatia’s World Cup hero Luks Modric would lift the prestigious trophy on 3 December. As per reports, Portugal great Cristiano Ronaldo finished at the 2nd spot followed by Frenchman Antoine Griezmann.

If Luka Modric manages to win the Golden Ball, he will end Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi’s decade-long domination on the Ballon d’Or trophy.
Earlier this week, there was another rumour that Luka Modric, Kylian Mbappe and Raphael Varane were the top 3 after votes were counted.
Real Madrid mid-fielder Modric has had a stunning year winning the Champions League and taking Croatia to the World Cup finals. However, Modric has not been on top of his game in the last 2-3 months and many reports suggested that there was no chance of him winning the Ballon d’Or this year. However, if the rumours are true, it seems the jury has decided to give it to him despite a not-so-good 2018/19 season.
