South African pacer Dale Steyn was absent from international cricket for 14 months due to a career threatening shoulder injury against Australia in November 2016. The first Test of the three-match Test series against India at Newlands Cape Town was his first match after returning to the competitive cricket.
However, he again suffered an injury during the first Test against India and now has been ruled out from the series, which was confirmed by Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Monday.
