UEFA Champions League 2023-24: Underdogs Borussia Dortmund face Real Madrid in finals
This will be the 18th final appearance for Real Madrid in European Cup history.
The 28-year-old Dortmund star will have some fancy Dragon Ball Z art protecting him in games!
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may be on the way out of Borussia Dortmund, but the Gabonese striker isn’t letting the strife get to him as he showed off his epic Dragon Ball Z themed shin pads with an Instagram post.
For those who don’t know, Dragon Ball Z is among the most popular anime of all time and has a fan following all around the globe. Spanish tennis superstar Rafael Nadal is another high-profile fan of the popular series, which was created by Akira Toriyama.
Aubameyang, who has been reprimanded by Die Borussen in recent weeks for disciplinary reasons, is said to be considering a move in the January transfer window. Premier League giants Chelsea are among the sides leading the race to sign the striker, who along with Bayern Munich man Robert Lewandowski, has topped the Bundesliga scoring charts for the past few seasons.
The 28-year-old Gabonese international, who is among the fastest players in world football, was sent off after scoring in a dramatic Ruhr Derby draw with Schalke earlier in the week.
Despite his issues with the management, the African has been in prolific form this season as he has already scored an impressive 17 times (all competitions).
And while Aubameyang’s post went viral, a lot of fans were curious to know how the 28-year-old got hold of shin pads that depicted scenes from the ongoing Dragon Ball Super saga.
For the second shin pad from the right shows the series’ protagonist, Son Goku, in the recently-attained ‘Ultra Instinct’ mode and the one on the extreme right shows Goku in ‘Super Saiyan Blue’/Super Saiyan God’ mode.
To have those ‘versions’ of Goku etched on to your shin pads so soon means that the Dortmund star is a DBZ super fan!
