First it was a Mahendra Singh Dhoni biopic starring Sushant Singh Rajput, and then a documentary on Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Fans can never have enough of cricket.
If reports are to be believed, Alt Balaji is now planning to cash in on the fan frenzy around shows with cricket as theme, and has decided to make a show on the book, ‘A Century is not Enough’, about the cricketing career of former India captain Sourav Ganguly.

‘A Century is not Enough’ is a book co-written by Sourav Ganguly and was launched two months ago in Kolkata. Sourav calls it an “experience based book”, which is about the cricketer’s journey from his Biren Roy Road home in Kolkata’s Behala to his shirt-less appearance on the balcony at the Lord’s stadium, and then in the richest cricket league in the world — the Indian Premier League.
“I have had a few discussions with Balaji, though nothing is final yet. I’ll have more details once we take this forward,” Sourav Ganguly told The Indian Express.
In the book, the 45-year-old has described his journey as: “It was like driving a Rolls-Royce one day and sleeping on the pavement the next.”
One of the most successful captains India has produced, Sourav Ganguly is a sporting icon. Loved by fans and despised by critics, Sourav’s life and career indeed has all the ingredients for a potboiler. Called ‘Maharaj’ at home, Sourav is popularly known as the ‘King of Kolkata’.
Last year, Amazon Prime’s Inside Edge, an Indian-American web series based on a fictional T20 cricket team that plays IPL-like series, was a big hit with the viewers.
