Birmingham City manager Harry Redknapp has revealed that the club has offered former Chelsea captain John Terry a good deal.

After spending more than two decades at Chelsea, Terry is set to leave the London club. His contract with the reigning English Premier League (EPL) champions will come to an end on July 1.

Bournemouth, West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa are also interested in the veteran defender and Redknapp confirmed that he is also very interested.

"I'd love to have him at the football club. He's a fantastic captain and great leader. We've made him a good offer and we have done the best we can. It's up to John now, but we would love him at Birmingham," Redknapp told talkSPORT on Thursday.

Terry took part in a testimonial match for England and Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick on June 5 at Old Trafford and Rednapp was impressed with the 36-year-old's form.

"He could play for anybody still. He has got a couple of good years in him. He played for me the other week in Michael Carrick's testimonial," he said.

"Fergie had the 2008 Champions League-winning team. I had an All-Star team and I had John at the back with Jamie Carragher — I would have them two together all day long. They were fantastic. I had a chat with him and said to him to come in — he's doing his coaching badges — have a year or two, and who knows what he wants to do in the future?" Redknapp added.
