The Day 1 of the second test of Australia vs South Africa ended with Australia looking a bit dominant. The hosts ended day one at a steady position as they were 45 with just 1 wicket down at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

David Warner (32*) and Marnus Labuschagne (5*) are standing at the crease as they now look forward to building a strong partnership and take a lead.
The hosts are still trailing by 144 runs as they now eye for getting a big lead on day 2.

Earlier, the Proteas were dismissed on 189 runs as Cameron Green destroyed South Africa’s batters with career best figures 5/47. While South Africa were 67-5, Marco Jansen and Kyle Verreynne showed great resilience. They put up a 112 runs partnership and led South Africa to a respectable total.
