Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who made his comeback in the national One Day International (ODI) team after 15 months, impressed everyone with his terrific bowling spell against Bangladesh on Friday. And now, Jadeja has a chance to surpass a Sachin Tendulkar record when India will face Pakistan on Sunday.

India’s batting legend Sachin Tendulkar, who was among the quality part-time bowlers during his playing days, is the highest wicket-taker for India in Asia Cup. Sachin Tendulkar has bagged 17 wickets from 23 encounters.

Ravindra Jadeja is the next in the list with 16 wickets in 11 encounters. On Friday, Ravindra Jadeja made his comeback in India’s One Day squad and wreaked havoc on Bangladesh batsmen. Jadeja finished the match with figures of 4/29. This was also Chennai Super Kings all-rounder’s fourth four wickets haul in ODI.

“I will always remember this comeback because I returned to the team after a gap of around 480 days. The earlier gaps have not been this long,” Ravindra Jadeja said at the post-match press conference, adding “The World Cup is still some time away, we’re going to play a lot of matches before that, and I can’t comment on that yet. My ambition is to perform the way I did today whenever I get the opportunity.”
