Premier League giants Manchester United had offloaded Alexis Sanchez in the recently concluded transfer window after Chile International proved to be a big-time flop playing for the Red Devils. The Old Trafford based club thereby allowed their record earner to join Serie A side Inter Milan on loan. Alexis has got off to a positive start at Inter Milan and has now even taken a dig at his former club.

Alexis Sanchez showed glimpses of his prime form when he was out for Inter Milan against Sampdoria. He scored in the match and was extremely effective but had to be sent off in the second half as he was shown two yellow cards.

All that aside, Sanchez has now taken a dig at his former team Manchester United by claiming that at Inter Milan he has fallen in love with football once again, hinting that he was not enjoying his stint with Manchester United.

“Coming to Inter was a bit like falling in love with football again,” Sanchez was quoted as saying by Daily Mail.

“I already knew the coach and some of the players, and I believe that the club are preparing something beautiful for the future.

“If I’m not mistaken, Inter haven’t won anything for seven or eight years. It was a bit like finding my love for football again, together with my desire to win something with this club,” he added.

Sanchez will now be up against another one of his former teams, Barcelona, in the UEFA Champions League this week. The forward stated that Inter need to put up their best game and stay alert despite Barca’s poor form in the season so far.

“If we have one or two chances, we can’t waste them. I played there with United and we wasted three or four clear chances,” he said.

“If you want to beat Barcelona, you can’t throw any clear chances away,” he concluded.

Sanchez had a forgettable stint with the Red Devils as he netted only five goals in 45 matches. He was also their record earner during his stay at Manchester United, earning a reported fee of £500,000 per week.
