The new jersey is inspired from the 50th anniversary of United’s historic first European Cup win – the first for any English team in the competition.
“The new navy blue jersey takes its cue from the royal blue kit worn by Sir Matt Busby’s men in their victory over Benfica at Wembley in May 1968,” a statement on the United website read.
United’s triumph at Wembley was even more special due to the fact that a large part of their squad had been decimated by the Munich Air Disaster 10 years prior.

“The jersey has been created from Parley Ocean Plastic in partnership with Parley for the Oceans,” the statement added.
As is the case with most football kits of big clubs, there are two variants for the jersey.
