Sachin Tendulkar shares emotional tribute to Ustad Zakir Hussain
Sachin Tendulkar, Akshay Kumar, Kamal Haasan, and A.R. Rahman pay tribute to the legendary Ustad Zakir Hussain, who passed away on December 15, 2024.
Kabir Khan has started preparations for his next project 83 starring Ranveer Singh. The film, which is based on the 1983 World Cup win for India, has Ranveer Singh essaying the role of cricketer Kapil Dev who was then the captain of the team.
The actor and the director visited the Lord’s Cricket Ground in London to watch India vs England Test match. As the match was delayed due to rains, Ranveer and Kabir grabbed the opportunity and posed with master blaster Sachin Tendulkar.

Kabir Khan shared the picture and captioned it as, “Sachin was 9 years old when he saw on television Kapil’s Devils win the World Cup in 1983 right here at this ground. That win inspired him to want to play for India. 35 years later we kick off the prep for our film 83 at the Lords… Can’t get better than this can it? @ranveersingh @sachintendulkar #indiaenglandseries #lords #filmprep.”
Ranveer also shared multiple pictures on his handle and for one of the pictures he captioned it: “Rain Rain go away”.
The film will show how under the captaincy of Kapil Dev the Indian cricket team defeated West Indies in the final of the 1983 World Cup. It tracks the coming of age of not just a cricketing team, but of a young nation in the eyes of the world.
The film is helmed by Kabir Khan, and this will also mark Ranveer’s first film with Kabir Khan. The film will hit the theatres on April 10, 2020.
