Trent Alexander-Arnold may be the youngest player in the England squad that’s preparing for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, but the 19-year-old has been impressive in practice and his latest training ground golazo has become quite the rage on Instagram.

The Liverpool teenager didn’t play in the Three Lions’ 2-1 win over Nigeria but by the looks of his thunderbolt on Monday, he will be in contention to feature when Gareth Southgate’s men take on Costa Rica in their final warm-up tie.

Arnold is known to renown to be a set-piece expert and his dead-ball skills will definitely come in handy for a youthful England side at the World Cup in Russia.

Still uncapped at the senior level for the Three Lions, Alexander-Arnold is expected to compete with Kyle Walker for a starting spot.

While the Manchester City man is almost certain to be Southgate’s first-choice at right-back, it doesn’t hurt to have an exciting prospect as a backup.

The fact that he can deputise in midfield as well is a bonus and must have swayed Southgate when he was deciding on his final 23-man squad.

England are in an interesting Group at the World Cup, for they will be facing off against the likes of Tunisia, Panama and Belgium as they bid to reach the knockout stages.

After decades of underwhelming displays at the World Cup, most England fans have tempered their expectations but should Southgate’s men get off to a bright start in Russia, anything can happen.
