Argentina vs Iceland is the second of four fixtures to be played on Saturday at the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the lineups for the tie at the Spartak Stadium have been revealed.

The first game of the day, France vs Australia, finished 2-1 in favour of Les Blues.

And after Cristiano Ronaldo’s goalscoring exploits for Portugal last night, Argentine talisman Lionel Messi will look to at least match his great rival.

The diminutive winger starts alongside Angel Di Maria and  the unheralded Maximilliano Meza, just behind centre forward Sergio Aguero.

Javier Mascherano and Lucas Biglia are in the central midfield pivot, while the South Americans have a flat back-four of Eduardo Salvio, Nicolas Otamendi, Marcos Rojo and Nicolas Tagliafico.

Goalkeeper Willy Caballero retains his place between the sticks.

Iceland, the surprise package at the Euros two years ago, are lining in up in a 4-4-2 formation:

Hannes Halldorsson starts in goal, with Hordur Magnusson, Ragnar Sigurdsson, Kari Arnason and Birkir Saevarsson featuring in the four-man defence.

Birikir Bjarnason, Emil Hallfredsson, Aron Gunnarsson and Johan Gudmundsson start in midfield while up top it is Gylfi Sigurdsson and Alfred Finnbogason.
