Teen cricket sensation from Afghanistan Rashid Khan has taken the fewest One Day International (ODI) innings to reach the landmark of one hundred wickets in the limited overs matches.

The Afghan leg-spinner has taken just 44 matches to reach the milestone of 100 wickets, which is eight less than the previous record holder.

Before Rashid, Australia’s Mitchell Starc was the fastest to get 100 ODI wickets. Starc had taken 52 matches to break the 16-year-old record. Starc had touched the 100 wicket mark in 2016.

Rashid Khan is also on the second spot in International Cricket Council (ICC) ODI bowlers’ ranking. Khan achieved this feat on Sunday against West Indies team when he sent Shai Hope back to pavilion for 23 runs during the final of ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Harare.

Rashid had taken his 50 wickets in the 26th match and moved to 99 in just 17 more matches, and finally, on 25 March, he reached the landmark of 100.

Earlier, the Afghanistan team led by Rashid Khan had confirmed their spot in the 2019 World Cup with a five-wicket win over Ireland.
