South African cricket team led by Dane van Niekerk opted to field after winning the toss against India in the 3rd T20I match New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg, on Sunday.
With their back-to-back victories over the Proteas women in last two T20I matches by seven wickets and nine wickets, respectively, Harmanpreet Kaur’s squad will look to continue its momentum in the third T20I against South Africa.
In the ongoing five-match T20I series, visitors have taken a lead of 2-0. In both the first and the second T20I, Mithali Raj’s sensational half-centuries had helped Indian women team beat the hosts comprehensively.
Meanwhile, on Friday, Mithali Raj had joined the elite club of cricketers who have scored four consecutive fifties in the T20Is. And if today again she scores a half-century, she will become the first player ever in both male and female cricket to do so.
