Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Ji, the Sikh place of worship and pilgrimage located in Chamoli district Uttarakhand, is scheduled to open on 1st June. Teams from the Indian Army, comprising of Surya Bengal Sappers, have been deployed to clear the 6 km track to the shrine since May 1.

Gurudwara Shri Hemkund Sahib Ji is devoted to Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the 10th Sikh Guru. It is located at an elevation of 4,632 meters (15,197 feet).

Earlier in May, the famous Hindu shrine of Kedarnath, located at 11,755 ft above the sea level, was opened for pilgrims after six months of winter break on May 9.

Over 2000 pilgrims from different parts of India attended the opening ceremony of the famous Hindu shrine located in Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand.
